I-465 Speed Limit Change

Indianapolis says it is progressive, and has made some change but when it comes to speed limits,  I-465 being a 6 lane and in some places a 10 lane freeway that encompasses the entire city now still being at 55mph is not only unsafe, but not practical considering that you can travel on some 4 and 6 lane surface/residential  streets at 45 mph, with houses and front yards not even being protected by a sidewalk ( Meridian from 70th to 86th street as an example) but I465 a freeway in the same city can only be traveled at 10 MPH over that same 45mph speed limit.

The first step is to get 5,000 signatures, after that I will find a legislator ( I was thinking Rep. Greg Porter ) for a First Reading – Each bill presented by a legislator is first read by title in the house of its origin. At this point, either the speaker of the House or the president pro tempore of the Senate refers the bill to a committee.
