Allen Scott51WaterloovilleI wait all my life for a station that talks to me...then it's taken away. Please spare 6Music if for no other reason than the memory of John Peel. The BBC's greatest servant since Lord Reith.
Mike Ryder54Wirral, Merseyside. All those decades of hard work by John Peel, who laid the foundations for 6 Music, are worth nothing???
We need music-lovers running the music side of the BBC, not a bunch of accountants!
Matthew Evans22York6music is a great radio station

Mike Robertson20Edinburgh-
John Connolly44SOUTHAMPTON6Music represents the national broadcast radio station that offers the widest range of music styles, introducing upcoming and established artists alongwith the artists already familiar to the listener. Quality is outstanding - the BBC should be proud of their achievement with 6Music.
Helen Dyson45Trimdon, Co DurhamI hadn't heard of 6music before the campaign to save it, however now BBC iplayer is always tuned in. I'm sure others are in the same boat. I love hearing something new which I wouldn't have discovered but for 6music. I'm sure the Rajar figures will enforce the fact that 6music is finding and retaining new listerners in a way that commercial radio could only dream of. Simply save 6music.
Rachel Hogg37BrightonWe love 6music !!
Andy Palin46WinchesterFor shame that the BBC should even consider killing off its most original and vibrant radio station. 6 Music is the kind of innovative broadcasting that makes the BBC the envy of the world, so why are you putting it to the sword? If it is down to listening figures, will you be terminating Radio 3 too? Thought not.
Ian Furman41Glasgow6 music forms a significant part of my listening week. There is simply nowhere else on the "dial" where I can find this breadth of music, presenters with genuine knowledge and enthusiasm and the only failure is for the BBC not to have realised what a treasure they have here and have consistently failed to promote it properly
Martin Ramsell40Bucks6 music is the best thing the bbc has done for years... the people in charge there must be philistines and idiots to even think about getting rid of it

Adam Searle--spending all your money on Bring on the effing wall and rejecting art is wrong!
Ollie Cornish38BristolWhere else can you hear quality, original, diverse music? We love 6 music, my kids love it, even the cat digs it!
Walter Mathews38Brighton-
Dani Newton- Tyers20Swindon/ ColchesterI think the Asian Network should be saved as its a brilliant way of expressing culture, and I've learnt so much from it. The music is amazing too, such a vast range. Please keep it, it's the only station worth listening to that helps me keep in touch with the goings on in the Asian world!
G Singh21LondonAsian Network needs to stay!!!
Iain Paterson37Falkirk, UK-
James Doble46Tampa, FL. USArestricting music is not any one persons right, if someone does not like the music, then turn it off or switch stations. please let the rest of us listen to what we wish in this new free world. thank you.
Justin Huntley38WiltshireSave 6 Music Please please please! It's vital it stays... for influencing new music and entertaining us with older well known music that matters!

Rebecca Hastings30Londonthis is the ONLY radio station i listen to. it keeps me from going insane in silence at home and at work. i bought a portable DAB just so that i could listen to 6music. i take it in the car. , i take it to work and i sometimes take it to friend houses'. i wake up to it, i cook to it, paint to it, read to it, work to it, clean to it, drive to it, sometimes even nap to it. there is no substitute and i really don't know what i will do if 6music is shut down. for starters i'll have to chuck out my DAB.
Jon Burrow23London-
Mark Brooks44Bromsgrove, Worceste6 has the best choice of music, the best DJ's and is the only staion that cares about new music and getting those acts up and running. It is the reason I own a DAB radio. It CANNOT be taken off air!
Nina Gorman21leeds-
Corrie McCaig37NorthamptonClosing down these 2 stations would be an insult to the listeners and John Peel's memory - no explaination needed. 6 Music is why I have a digital radio, its always on!

James Derham31LancasterC'mon the beeb, don't shoot yourselves in the foot, keep 6music!
Innes Cameron31Aberdeen6 Music is why I have a digital radio. It is permanently on in my house. Please do not take 6 Music off air. This radio station is my window to the music I want to hear and experience. It is also very important at helping me unwind and relax. 6 Music is progression. Don't take a backward step.

Allan Pointon46StaffordNo manufactured groups or music here - only proper musicians and music.
For the cost of saving 6Music the BBC need not send millions of overpaid "football pundits" to lavish purpose built studios in Africa
Jessie Blackburn12Newport, S WalesSave both stations. 6 Music has helped loads of great new music come through. DJ's like Mark Riley; Tom Robinson and Steve Lamaq and hosts of other specialists make a huge difference and they can't all be accomodated on the other Radio Stations. Digital Radio works and we use it lots - dropping 6 Music and Asian Network would be a huge mistake.
