This petition is not about bringing back the death penalty,it's about keeping murderers locked up for life. When a judge gives a life sentence these days it can be as little as 4 years. When a father of two small children is murdered just because he didn't have a cigarette and given just 10 years it shows how bad the justice system has become. Life should mean life,not a few years. Please think about this carefully,it only takes a minute to help make a safer country for us all.

We propose that for those who have committed the crime of murder, a mandatory life sentence should be imposed and this should mean until the death of the prisoner, i.e. life meaning life.  

Remove the eligibility of parole for murderers who have been convicted of premeditated and aggravated murder and sentenced to a life sentence in prison for the safety of the general public in the UK and to minimize further trauma to the family of the victim.

Life should mean life when given as a prison sentence and all criminals already convicted of Murder should be included in life meaning life.
Every day we read about murderers being given a life sentence and before we know it they are free, and go on to commit similar/exact same crimes again on release.  We need a more substantial deterrent in the UK.

People who commit such dreadful crimes know in the worst case they will be free in 10 years. We want change. A life sentence must mean just that, whole of life.
