Sunset Parents,
If you have not heard already, there is the potential dismissal of coach Dillon as physical education instructor at Sunset Elementary. Coach Bethel is an outstanding teacher and his performance and dedication to the school and its students speaks for itself, not only during his PE classes but outside of the school as well. His positive influence and care for the students has made him one of the favorite teachers at Sunset by the students as well as their parents. Compared to other PE teachers, he is the best representation of what Sunset stands for and there is no reason for him to leave.
If this is due to a budget cut, the teacher/student ratio has already reached critical mass and reducing the staff even further will not only detiriorate the quality of instruction at Sunset but will also compromise the safety of the children as well, especially during physical education.
Dismissal should be based on performance and merit and not simply on seniority. If Sunset is to get rid of its best teachers simply on seniority, our school may be left with most senior teachers with mediocre performance.
Help Sunset Elementary remain the best that it is by signing this petition to keep Coach Dillon Bethel at Sunset Elementary!
