Community toilets

Public toilets, or private toilets open to the public, are becoming increasingly scarce in the greater Sydney area. Our research shows that while most people recognise the lack of public toilet facilities, they also expressed concern over the current state of exisiting facilities. A lack of hygiene, maintenance and security were just a few of the issues that arose.

The aim of this petition is to introduce community toilets on private premises. It will encourage the owners of bars, restaurants, cafes and shops to allow members of the public to use their toilet facilities free of charge. In exchange, we will urge the Sydney of City Council to issue some form of incentive or payment to premises owners for providing this facility.
