Django festival Samois - more homage to Gypsies

Django festival Samois - fans gather from around the world and meet once a year to celebrate Djangos music - since the festival has been taken over by a Jazz radio station less and less Gypsies perform here each year and less and less Gypsy Swing is heard and more straight ahead jazz.

We come from across the globe to see and hear Djangos music and the Gypsies playing it. New players are influenced and learn at this festival to go on to be better players and mix with the worlds finest in the genre.

This year there was virtually no Gypsy Swing Bands shame on them

This petition is to tell the sponsors:

We want to see Djangos Gypsy Swing musicians and other Gypsy music from around the globe well represented here as well as bands influenced by his music and genius.

We do not want a full on Jazz festival that we can see anywhere in the world

This is the Django festival and must represent his people and his music

We want to buy tickets and actually get a seat -they so oversell the concerts that you cannot see or get a seat and sometimes cannot even get on the Island.

Stop allowing the audience from standing so no one else can see

We want to be able to leave the Island when we have a day ticket to support the local village and businesses and not be trapped there and not allowed to leave and return

Gypsies also come from all over Europe for this homage it has been diluted beyond acceptance and is an insult to the Gypsies who come to pay respect to Djangos last place of rest.

Keep this festival with the heart it was created, many people have been going for nearly 20 years - we come for his music and his legacy of musicians from around the globe - let new stunning Gypsy talent play here and many others from around the globe who represent the music in their own way.
