Erie Biosciences Academy Charter School

I support the creation of the Erie Biosciences Academy Charter School (EBACS) serving students in grades six through twelve in the Greater Erie Community. I support EBACS because it will provide another educational option for families and taxpayers. EBACS is scheduled to open in September 2013.

I support the mission statement because the Erie Biosciences Academy Charter School will be a coeducational, 6-12 school with a rigorous academic curriculum emphasizing the preparation and exploration of careers in the biosciences career pathways by offering a unique blend of coursework and real world experiences.  Students will have unique access to advanced content and experts that will spark creativity, connection, and commitment to the field of Biosciences and Healthcare. EBACS will set high standards of achievement for all students, coupled with the development of critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.  EBACS will stress personal growth and social awareness, which will enable all students to successfully advance to the next educational level.

The Erie Biosciences Academy Charter School when fully enrolled will be open to all students in grades 6 through 12 residing in the Greater Erie Area. I understand that students in grades 6 through 8 will be accepted for the 2013-2014 academic year.
