Fair Pay For Slough Schools Support Staff

Slough Borough’s school support staff deserve to have their pay evaluated in a fair, proper and consistent manner.

Pay in schools in Slough was determined by a job evaluation exercise in 2004, but this was not brought into line with the main council when jobs there were evaluated and re-graded in 2010. This is not acceptable.

UNISON is calling for Slough Borough Council to ensure that ALL staff in the borough’s schools have their pay evaluated fairly under the council’s 2010 Job Evaluation Scheme so they are brought into line with other jobs at the council. This will ensure there are no inconsistencies in support staff wages and all staff will be paid fairly.

School support staff should not be paid less than their colleagues in other schools or the council for doing work of equal value.
