Stop the Gender Bias of Custody

The Logic of the Law is there to be questioned. Divorced fathers out there can do what divorced mothers can do. So why the Gender Bias? The Logical way of resolving these issues would be to grant equal or joint residancy custody 50/50 between the mother and the father right from the start! Then either party can fight in court for the variation of these rights. Currently it is not the case. As soon as divorce is heard in the high court then immediately the mother gets the children! The sequence should be changed! Once divorce is finalised then its 50 /50 for residence. Then there can be a custody battle afterwards. This would solve many problems right from the start because on most occasions custody will be resolved as many parents will see that this is how it is going to end up any way with the new laws changing the residency into an equal 50 / 50 split. We dont need rocket science for this people! All the Policy makers out there, makes me wonder if they are or ever were in a custody battle before that they could overlook the logics? Policy Makers PLEASE for the Children's sake CHANGE the Residency custody to be shared 50 /50 right from the beginning of the divorce!
