FAIR and INCLUSIVE GAMES: As a proud Olympic host city, Vancouver wants to ensure that equality for the LGBTQ community and the inclusion of Pride House are an integral part of future Olympic and Paralympic Games, no matter where in the world they are hosted.
Our goals are:
1.To secure a decision by the IOC to update Principle 6 in the Olympic Charter to explicitly include a non-discrimination clause in regard to LGBTQ persons and sexual and gender identity.
2. To secure a commitment from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and International Paralympic Committee (IPC) to include in the Host City Agreement that all future Olympic and Paralympic cities are expected to welcome and support the creation of community-led Pride Houses.3. To provide, through this initiative’s actions and proposals, an avenue for solidarity and support for Russia's community.
