Oppose Ban on Firearms at the NH State House

Opened on December 22, 2009 | Contact Petition Author

Oppose Ban on Firearms at the NH State HouseIn a surprise action, various anti-liberty lawmakers in Concord acted behind closed doors to ban guns and knives at the State House, the Legislative Office Building, the Upham Walker House, legislative parking garages and lots, and any other facility that the Legislature controls. In a partisan, 8-3 vote, progressive Democrats sitting on the Joint Committee on Legislative Facilities today used a policy-making authority for legislative buildings to impose their out-of-touch and unconstitutional agenda on citizens, lawmakers and state office workers who would want to protect themselves from criminals who might try to harm them in these buildings. Section 2(a) of the New Hampshire constitution clearly protects the right to bear arms. Tell these legislators that they must obey the civil rights of all New Hampshire citizens to keep and bear arms, including at the State House and Legislative Office Buildings!

Carol MacKenzie-ManchesterLook for this to be a new tactic in 2010--taking their cue from the circumvention of legislative process and the will of the people now being employed by our "represenatives" in Washington.

jeffry s. hall-nashua, n.h.I strenuosly object to the legislatures underhanded methods of denying my 2nd amendmant rights. The parties that voted in approval of this will most certainly lose their positions next election. Sincerely-Jeff Hall

Antonio G Rizzo-Nashua, NHThe purposeof the ban is so insidious in its aims while seeming "reasonable" at face value..if successful, it will be later "improved" to include the SH parking lot, the adjoining sidewalk, etc..all in the guise of public safety......basically, the pols do not trust the citizenry's to defend itself, at the last resort, against an oppressive government...let's not fall for the ruse.
