Oppose Ban on Firearms at the NH State House
Opened on December 22, 2009 | Contact Petition Author
In a surprise action, various anti-liberty lawmakers in Concord acted behind closed doors to ban guns and knives at the State House, the Legislative Office Building, the Upham Walker House, legislative parking garages and lots, and any other facility that the Legislature controls.
In a partisan, 8-3 vote, progressive Democrats sitting on the Joint Committee on Legislative Facilities today used a policy-making authority for legislative buildings to impose their out-of-touch and unconstitutional agenda on citizens, lawmakers and state office workers who would want to protect themselves from criminals who might try to harm them in these buildings.
Section 2(a) of the New Hampshire constitution clearly protects the right to bear arms.
Tell these legislators that they must obey the civil rights of all New Hampshire citizens to keep and bear arms, including at the State House and Legislative Office Buildings!

Georgia Palmieri-KeeneGood gracious- banning firearms is a direct violation of the NH Constitution. Wake up folks and LISTEN to your constituents. Just because the US Congress behaves like ostriches with their heads in the sand doesn't mean you in NH will get away with the same behavior. Happy New Year
Joseph R. Grivois66Manchester, N.H.As a lifelong american citizen who knows our state and federal constitutions, I am appalled and outraged that you arbitrarily banned the right to carry. That defies our constitution and denies us the right to protect ourselves and your sorry behinds as well.
I demand that you rescind this silly piece of defiance and once again, adhere to our constitution.
You will not always be in power and I pray (Yes, I do pray,) that when conservatives are back, they will fight back against you jackasses and stop being nice & fair. They will also begin investigating wrongdoing by power hungry fools!

Donald Clendenen-East AndoverIs it the rule now that legislation is done by fiat, in closed committees and without input from those whom it impacts? Are we again Subjects and not Citizens? We must put this right at the ballot box.
Edward Popek-WiltonYet another case of legislature insulating themselves from the public like a kingdom.

William Lepsevich63GoffstownI am convinced that our legislatures are out of touch with the general public and frequent Starbucks instead of sharing a table at Dunkin Donuts. They may be good people but the wrong people. I Vote!
