Oppose Ban on Firearms at the NH State House

Opened on December 22, 2009 | Contact Petition Author

Oppose Ban on Firearms at the NH State HouseIn a surprise action, various anti-liberty lawmakers in Concord acted behind closed doors to ban guns and knives at the State House, the Legislative Office Building, the Upham Walker House, legislative parking garages and lots, and any other facility that the Legislature controls. In a partisan, 8-3 vote, progressive Democrats sitting on the Joint Committee on Legislative Facilities today used a policy-making authority for legislative buildings to impose their out-of-touch and unconstitutional agenda on citizens, lawmakers and state office workers who would want to protect themselves from criminals who might try to harm them in these buildings. Section 2(a) of the New Hampshire constitution clearly protects the right to bear arms. Tell these legislators that they must obey the civil rights of all New Hampshire citizens to keep and bear arms, including at the State House and Legislative Office Buildings!

Chris Thompson33Manchester, NHThis legislation will not stop a criminal from carrying a weapon into the State House, but it will prevent law abiding citizens from defending themselves.
This legislation is not only pathetic, it is a disgrace to our great state.
Charles S. Sink46Contoocook, NHI will feel much less safe in the NH Statehouse knowing that the law abiding will have no chance against any violent criminal who wants to create death and mayhem there. I'll live and work with my armed friends with more security than now possible at the NH State House. Politicians have no common sense.
Joseph Hall29SomersworthCriminals don't care about laws. I bet Law Enforcement cannot be at the scene of every crime as it happens. It is not acceptable to tie the hands of U.S. Citizens in defense of their lives. I can't wait to vote against all who made this happen.

Susan DeLemus52Rochester, NHPlease read the NH State Constitution before you decide to arbitrarily, illegally try to take away my right to bear arms. You are out of order.

Its really easy folks, punish the people that make decisions not to be part of a normal society and stop making EXCUSES for their behavior and leave the rest of us alone!
