The DA Youth believes a radical departure needs to be made from the concept of cash-only repayment for loans from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS). Rather, we propose a model whereby willing graduates can repay their loans through service to the state in a field related to their area of study on a year-for-year basis.
Not only would this provide relief to cash-strapped graduates entering the labour market, but it would also give these often inexperienced graduates an opportunity to gain on the job experience and encourage a massive flow of talent and skills into the ailing public service.
Join us in lobbying the Minister of Higher Education to implement this proposal.
