Do not re-open Blackbridge Tip
Opened on February 06, 2010 | Contact Petition Author
We the undersigned demand that Hertfordshire County Council and Lafarge Redlands cease their attempts to re-open Blackbridge Tip for dumping. This is a Green Belt site and an area of high landscape value and an imnportant wildlife habitat. Attempts to re-open the site will be strongly opposed by us all.

R. WattsWheathampsteadRe-Opening Blackbridge would be a local disaster. Roads already at capacity at peak times and in poor state of repair would only get far worse and more traffic would inevitably be forced through the village.
Already an area of significant wildlife importance, any work of the nature required to 're-restore' the site would create a wildlife wilderness. Protect fauna abounds on the land and mitigation measures on the scale that would be required are not always sucessful and put signifcant pressure on existing communities.

Trevor John DaveyWheathampsteadI can't believe the County Council are once again trying to re-open Blackbridge Tip. It is outrageous they keep trying to overturn a legal agreement and they obviously do not care about the people of Wheathampstead.
