Save Radstock Youth Centre

B&NES Council is consulting on threatened cuts to youth services to be enforced April 2011. Conservative councillors are proposing a 50% cut in budget for the well-regarded Radstock Youth Centre and an over-dependency on the voluntary sector to take up the slack. This short-sighted policy is being rushed through before possible alternatives can be properly researched and proposed.

This petition calls on B&NES not to cut Radstock youth centre and to find the money from the huge grants given to Bath's Theatre Royal or a reduction in consultancy fees paid to private sector organisations.

We also want meaningful discussions over the next 12 months with staff, unions and the local community, about what alternatives there might be to protect and enhance this valuable service in the future.
