As most of you know, we originally started out campaigning for a Roswell Movie. However, lately Netflix has been reviving shows like Arrested Development and Full House( aka Fuller House) with NEW SEASONS and (most of) the original casts of these shows and we got to thinking... Maybe they could do something like this with #Roswell?!

How would you guys like to see the actual show be revived for a new season or two?If you're at all interested in seeing something like this happen via Netflix please, PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION!!

----

Ever since this brilliant show was cancelled in 2002, fans have been campaigning for a Roswell movie. The concept of this show was way too early for its time. The love for Roswell didn't die down after 2002, with many fans organizing Roswell rewatches, new fans being created everyday, and a very active Facebook fanpage with over 75,000 fans.

The likelyhood of a movie ever being made seemed like an impossible dream until the Roswell reunion at the ATX festival when fans saw the cast reunion, and saw that they hadn't changed and a movie looked more possible.

When Jason Katims was asked about a possible movie, he said "“It was funny, last night when we all met and I’m talking to all these guys and they’re starting to tell me about their kids and their families,” Katims said. “To me, I’m frozen in time with you guys at a very different part of your life, so that would be the first thing I would think about, if I were gonna tell that story, is what they’ve been through over the last 15 years and catch them at another phase, catch them in adulthood.”"

We, the FANS of Roswell, are TOTALLY FINE with the vision Jason Katims sees if we can make a movie or a new season (via netflix) possbile!

Shiri Appleby and some other cast members are also in support of a movie if the correct people get involved. Shiri was quoted saying "I would LOVE the idea of doing a Roswell movie. The idea has been mentioned from fans for years. When the Veronica Mars Kickstarter campaign happened last year, I looked into what it would take for Roswell movie to happen, and what I found out is that there are a lot of bigger players than me that would need to get interested to make something like that happen. I wouldn't say it's impossible but..."

William Sadler has shown interest in being a part of the Roswell Movie, he even signed our original petition that we started with "I think it would be great fun!"

Fans of the Roswell page can be quoted saying "Years later, I would still watch a reunion movie", "WORD I would be first in line for a Roswell movie with original cast", "How many bottles of Tabasco do we have to mail to get some sense into those who are in a position to decide?! And who are these stakeholders?" , "There's still hope for a movie if only someone would push hard enough to see that it happens while the cast are still in their prime and looking fab. I don't know a lot about Kick Starter but if someone made a petition I'd contribute whatever I could."

All of these quotes are from just last week.

Fans from the Roswell Movie Campaign can be quoted saying:

  • Would love to see where all the characters ended up and have a final Farewell to the show!
  • Well it's 15 Years Now since it premiered & 12 years since it's cancellation, so We Want A Roswell Movie!!! Come On, if Veronica Mars can do it, Roswell Sure Can!!!
  • The show ended before it's time. It would be a 'crime' not to bring it back in someway or other. People think it's forgotten but it's not, it will always be in our hearts. Giving us a movie would be amazing and help us with answers to our questions we've had so long! Please just make a movie, why not? Thank you from everyone. There's more of us then you know.
  • I first watched Roswell when it originally aired. Thirteen years on, I've watched it again and have fallen in love all over again, even more so than before. I am astounded by the richness of the tapestry of the characters created not only by the author, but by the people (Katims, Frakes et al) responsible for bringing it to the small screen. I discovered more meaning to this show that had so many layers. Relationships between the characters evolved so beautifully, so organically, it is a testament to the extraordinary talented writing team. Roswell ( along with Buffy) was the trailblazer, the template for the ensuing shows that rode in on their coat tails. There is so much chaff on tv, we are overrun with vampires and werewolves and marvel heroes that despite all attempts to plant them in our world, they seem more and more abstract. not Roswell. The depth of the characters, allied with the whole the sum total produced cemented themselves in OUR world with such ease, I found myself crying at the end of the second season. Let me tell you something about me. I NEVER cry at shows or films. My eyes may tear up. That's the extent of it. But I CRIED at the end of season 2. I lived the trials and tribulations of the characters as though they were my friends. I lived vicariously through them. At 31 years of age, I can say hand on heart that I rate Roswell as one of my 5 all time favourite shows. the other 4 are The West Wing, Spooks (called MI5 in the US), Buffy and Friends. I know this to be true because these are the only shows I have bought their corresponding box sets to. It would fill my heart with so much to see the characters return, just to lay the story to rest; I feel as though after so many years of being on the run, they must have stopped somewhere. We need to check in on them to make sure they're ok. I know it seems frivolous. It's fiction. But this is the effect Roswell had on me. And how far ingrained in me the love I have for the characters goes.

If (like Veronica Mars) the actors / Jason Katims can express interest, fans are more than willing to donate to a Kickstarter campaign or do whatever is necessary.

Please please consider this. This show was cancelled way too early. There are so many other plotlines that could be explored.
