ALL FM is a community radio station based in Levenshulme, serving South, East and Central Manchester. We are a volunteer led organisation with over 150 volunteers actively engaged in running the station, from broadcast assistants, producers up through to the management committee.

All our presenters are volunteers having been trained by ALL FM - a voice for the community by the community. We don't just broadcast, we train all members of the community from young to old and all those in between.

We work with some of the most vulnerable members of the community including children, young people at risk of exclusion, adults with mental heath issues, and adults with learning difficulties. We broadcast shows in English, Farsi, Urdu and Polish, giving a voice for as many members of the community as we can. Many of our volunteers are unemployed- the experience they get from ALL FM, both training and presenting gives them skills, direct and indirect to gain employment.  As a direct result of volunteering at ALL FM many of our presenters have gone on to work for the BBC in a variety of roles, including presenting.

A recent research study by the University of Manchester highlighted that we have 14,000 regular listeners within Manchester.

As well as supporting people who have a direct involvement with our station, ALL FM are committed to promoting organisations in the community who may not have access to mainstream media.

This year we celebrate our tenth anniversary. We are in the process of developing new avenues to generate revenue. We have reduced costs and staff to a minimum to survive the short term. However we are still at risk of closing should funding from Manchester City Council be ceased immediately with no replacement.

We fully recognise the pressure that Manchester City Council is under but we must acknowledge the benefit that community radio brings to our area and ask “do we want to continue giving our community a voice?’

We call upon national and local government to recognise the above and help save this precious community resource.

Save ALL FM.
