Allow Pets Haven to continue running their shelter at Woodend!

Pets Haven Animal Shelter have been forced to close their doors only 12 days before Christmas.

Right in the middle of kitten season.

The Macedon Shire council sent three rangers to the Pets Haven store at Woodend to force the closure and to seize all paperwork. They also photographed all the animals on the premises.

They allege that Pets Haven have been issued with a temporary permit only to run a shelter, but cannot tell Pets Haven when this apparently has expired, nor has Pets Haven received information regarding this, before this day.

They said they are closing the shelter so they can audit the books and have told Pets Haven staff and management that they are unsure if Pets Haven will be allowed to reopen.

Pets Haven are a pro life shelter and who have already saved over 1200 cats and dogs in 2010. They must be allowed to continue their work.

At this point in time, in the absolute busiest time of the year, they have forced the closure of one of the only Pro Life shelters in Victoria. Please stop this from happening quietly.

Council have stated that they want to work with Pet's Haven and intend to reissue a permit on Tuesday 21 Dec 2010 after inspecting the shelter. Please show your support for Pet's Haven by signing the petition.
