Stop the Wellington Road/Nelson Road 'Rat Run'

We call upon local councillors Suzanne Nolan, Christopher Cummins and Peter Goody to stop the Wellington/Nelson Road 'rat run'. The Roads are increasingly being used by motorists to avoid the main traffic route along Hermon Hill. The use of the roads in this way raises major concerns about:

• PEDESTRIAN SAFETY: the speed of traffic is particularly dangerous for children and elderly residents; the road is also used by children to get to Wanstead Church School and other local schools.


• AMOUNT of traffic: remember we also have a stream of ‘L’ drivers trying to negotiate the road;


• NOISE & POLLUTION generated: this is supposed to be a residential road, not a major traffic route;


• ROAD SURFACES: holes constantly appearing and being filled. This costs us, the local tax payers.
