We are asking you to support the villagers in their endeavour to stop the creation of a slurry lagoon in the field adjoining the the crossroads at the A49 and the approach to Weston under Redcastle by signing this petition as quickly as possible.

We are opposing this application 12/02093/FUL Options 3 and 4 because of the close proximity to homes adjoining the development of half an acre of open slurry in sight and smell of the village. The residents and visitors to the hotel & golf course will suffer from the harmful odours of poisonous gases and dangerous bacteria carried by flies breeding in the slurry which are uncontrollable. The odour will be carried on the wind as far as the golf course particularly when the slurry is stirred before transportation along the lanes and on to the A49. These odours and black flies carry dangerous bacteria and are a statutory nuisance. Look on the web sites of other areas fighting slurry lagoon applications and see the photographs of plagues of flies in homes and the destruction of treasured landscape. We are not opposed to all the options presented: Option 1 is a slurry tower actually on the farm next to an existing slurry tower which has received little or no objections for many years and we wholeheartedly support Option 2 which is close to the farm away from any residential areas. Taking all that in to account the applicant and the parish councillors are still persisting in causing anguish by supporting Option 4 which will ruin the pleasure of so many people enjoying their homes and gardens.  We ask you for your support by signing this petition, time is at a premium so your quick action is needed. Thank you in anticipation of your support.
